We offer a choice of three different options for providing your dental care at the practice:
NHS
JDP Dental Plan (our monthly maintenance programme)
Private
This guide is intended to give you an idea of the costs involved in each of these options.
NHS
Check-ups are free for NHS patients.
Some patients are exempt from NHS charges. Ask a member of staff at reception for details.
For a course of treatment provided entirely on the NHS the maximum fee paid by the patient is £384. Even if the value of the treatment is much higher, the NHS subsidises the remainder.
Guide NHS prices for some common items of treatment are shown below.
Some treatments are not funded by the NHS and any patients wishing these items would pay privately to have them carried out.
JDP Dental Plan
For patients who are “dentally fit” we offer a non-NHS maintenance programme. Monthly payments allow you to spread the cost of your dental care and allow us to concentrate on keeping you healthy.
The fees vary according to your dental history and the dentist can tell you which payment category would apply. The current monthly costs are:
Category A: £25.65 B: £32.30 C: £41.97 D: £50.57 E: £58.62
This covers all routine care such as exams, xrays, fillings, root-treatments and visits to the hygienist etc. as well as world-wide insurance for dental accidents and emergencies. Further details are available from your dentist or the leaflets at Reception.
Private
Conventional Private “pay as you go” treatment allows us to use the best materials, techniques and laboratory support available, as well as providing services not covered by the NHS, while still keeping fees competitive.
